Lent is Upon Us!
Dear friends,
We have reached that blessed time of year when the Lord invites us to examine our lives and prepare our hearts to celebrate the events of his Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Lent is an opportunity to grow in our relationship with the Lord as we look to what we call the pillars of the season: Prayer, Fasting, and Alms-giving. In other words, the Lord is calling us to eat a little less, to pray a little more, and to give of ourselves to others. We are providing many opportunities for spiritual growth here at the parish. We will be having a parish mission, followed by the launch of our Bible Study. We have more opportunities for daily Mass with a 6PM Mass three days per week. We will have weekly stations of the Cross, as well as opportunities to come and spend some time with the Lord in Adoration. And there will be over 5 hours of confessions available every week. I invite you to try one of these things you may not have tried before, come to a daily Mass; it’s only half an hour. Try some quiet time in Adoration; you will be amazed at how a little quiet time with Jesus in the Eucharist can change your life. Come to the Stations of the Cross, and walk with the Lord. Let us together make this a meaningful Lent.
I invite as many of us as possible to come to the Parish Mission. Fr. Michael Nixon is a powerful speaker and we would all benefit greatly from his message. Let’s all come together as a parish family to grow in our relationship with the Lord!
In Christ, Fr. Casey
