Milestones & Gratitude
For me, next week celebrates a few milestones for which I wish to give thanks. On the 14th of July, I am blessed to celebrate 7 years of priestly ministry; the July 12th marks 8 months here at St. Elizabeth; and July 17th is my 40th birthday. Our God has been generous to me beyond measure. I am grateful to our good and gracious Lord today for the gift of life, for the sacrifices made by my hard-working and caring parents, the support and loyalty of a great extended family, and the love and care given me these past years by the people of God, most especially in these recent months, as I have been kindly welcomed to our community here as St. Elizabeth Seton. It is a joy to be a priest and to serve you all, thank you for allowing me this privilege.
Upon my arrival, I made two promises to our community: I will always love you, and I am going to make mistakes. I am pleased to say that I am sure I did not disappoint in either of these two areas. Thank you, people of God, for loving me and allowing me to serve you. I hope that many of you will be able to join in a parish celebration on July 12th at 6:00pm in the parish center, as I thank the Lord for his generosity to me. Please join in this great celebration.
In Jesus Christ, Fr. Casey
