Finding hope means being able to recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit. I had a first-hand opportunity this past Tuesday to see the workings of the Holy Spirit and to actually be a part of it. St. Matthew’s House has asked our parish to help them distribute food to the needy on a regular basis. This means two things: contributing our venue and coordinating volunteers. The phone call I took this week has been an answer to prayer for me and is now my own personal reality of ‘Finding Hope’ this Advent season. I have wanted this for a long time, for a tangible way to support our neighbors in Golden Gate. I am just in awe that St. Matt’s House came to us for help!
I mentioned on the First Sunday of Advent that 2020 has us finding our ‘Hope Tanks’ on empty. I want for this food distribution effort to be a place to ‘fill-up the tank’ either because you and your family need the support of a regular food box or because you want to be the hands and feet of Jesus giving this tangible hope to others.
- Please join me in praying for the start of this ministry at our parish on Monday, January 11, 2021.
- Please consider being a part of the initial volunteer team for this ministry.
- Please know that prayers are answered and we at Seton are here to help you with food, prayer and Hope!
PS: Find the volunteer sign-up is in the weekly parish email.
