Endowed by Our Creator!

As we celebrate the birth of this great nation, let’s remember that this great nation is founded on the principle that “Nature and Nature’s God” has given every human person the right to be alive and the right to be free. John Paul II once observed: “America has always wanted to be a land of the free. Today, the challenge facing America is to find freedom’s fulfillment in the truth: the truth that is intrinsic to human life created in God’s image and likeness, the truth that is written on the human heart, the truth that can be known by reason and can therefore form the basis of a profound and universal dialogue among people about the direction they must give to their lives and their activities.”
As the great American writer, Elmer Davis observed: “This nation will remain the land of the free, so long as it remains the home of the brave.” Let us pray that we remain a nation that fights and strives for women and men, made up from a diverse array of cultures to be alive, happy, and free. We thank those who have made sacrifices, including the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We pray that brave men and women will still today be the voice and champions of the immigrant, the unborn, and all those marginalized. For, the human conscience, which we believe is formed by God, tells us that all human persons, as declared by the founding document of our great nation, are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Happy Independence Day!
